This Privacy Notice explains how asklake processes personal data, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679, GDPR), Brazil’s LGPD (Law No. 13.709/2018) and other applicable laws.
1. Who we are and scope
This notice applies to the asklake.com.br website, the asklake platform and commercial interactions with current and prospective customers.
2. Roles: controller and processor
We are the controller of data about website visitors, business contacts and account holders. For data the Customer connects and migrates to the platform, which may include third-party data, we act as a processor, handling it only on the Customer’s instructions, with the Customer as controller.
3. Data we process
- Account and contact data: name, work email, company, phone and role.
- Usage data: access logs, IP address, device and interactions with the Service.
- Customer Content: dashboards, BI sources and connected data, which may contain third-party personal data processed on the Customer’s behalf.
4. Purposes and legal bases
We process data to provide and improve the Service (performance of a contract), respond to business inquiries (legitimate interest/pre-contractual steps), comply with legal obligations and, where required, based on consent (e.g., marketing and certain cookies).
5. BI migration and third-party data
By connecting BI sources, the Customer authorizes us to access and migrate the relevant dashboards and data. asklake does not use Customer Content for its own purposes or to train models without authorization; it is processed solely to operate the Service.
6. Sharing and sub-processors
We may share data with infrastructure, hosting and essential tooling providers (sub-processors) under contractual obligations consistent with GDPR/LGPD. We do not sell personal data.
7. International transfers
Some sub-processors may be located outside your country or the EEA. In such cases we apply appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
8. Retention
We keep data for as long as necessary for the stated purposes or as required by law. When the relationship ends, we delete or anonymize data, unless a retention obligation applies.
9. Security
We apply appropriate technical and organizational measures, encryption in transit, access control and monitoring, to protect data against unauthorized access, loss or destruction.
10. Your rights
Under GDPR/LGPD you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection and to not be subject to automated decisions. Requests from individuals whose data was connected by a Customer will be forwarded to that controller.
11. Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies and, subject to consent, analytics cookies to understand site usage. You can manage these in your browser settings.
12. Children
The Service is intended for businesses and is not directed at minors. We do not knowingly collect children’s data.
